Many IT Administrators are having to do a Cost-Benefit-Analysis on moving part or all of their municipal servers to the cloud. Goldie Associates is happy to announce that as of Captains (ver 11.0), you won’t have any problems connecting to a cloud-based service. Once your SQL Database has been moved to your cloud account, simply open Captains, Click on “Current Server” at the bottom of the screen. In the “server” field, put the web address that corresponds with your server. Then type in the Captains Database name, uncheck “Use Windows Authentication” and put in your datauser credentials you set up on the server. That’s it. Once you’ve made those changes, your Pretreatment Staff can take their computer with them and access Captains anywhere they have a data connection!
